Publisher Founder of MetaCreative Magazine: Mystikka Jade

`

JA: Mystikka, I have been so honored to be a contributor to your truly innovative amazing MetaCreative Magazine. The content, articles and lay-out are really state of the art. What was your inspiration for the magazine?

MJ: Thank you Jeanine! Well, back in my childhood I would create comics, newsletters and magazines as a way of experimenting with my creativity.
The inspiration really kicked in though the early and mid 1990s when I started working as a psychic and immersing myself in the metaphysical community. I particularly remember the Whole Life Expo events I attended, volunteered at and worked at. They were conventions where popular metaphysical authors and teachers would come and give seminars.
There was a sea of booths where I'd browse around between workshops, where I could find everything from flower essences, to world instruments like ocarinas and didgeridoos. Walking down just one average hall of booths, I might run into Tibetan bowl healings, astrological services, psychedelic art, Native American Crafts, vegan products, crystals and stones and a book signing with a successful metaphysical author.
This was before the internet was mainstream, and I didn't have the luxury of exploring all of these things from a screen in my living room, and I'm glad I didn't. There was an enthusiasm and unexplainably invigorating energy at the live events where so much metaphysical culture was mixing under one gigantic roof. Even back then I felt like I wanted to take the energy and inspiration of these events and put it in print, with my own spin on it.

JA: How have your life experiences, artistic vision and metaphysical beliefs informed your vision for your magazine?

MJ: I have always wanted to somehow combine art, writing, entertainment and spiritual awareness, but I have not always had the self-discipline to volunteer long free hours behind the scenes to create something ongoing while still working my "day job" as a psychic. I reached a point in my life where I became willing to dedicate myself to doing a lot of extra work to support my vision and stick with it at all costs even when it was extremely challenging and didn't feel worth it.

JA: What keeps you inspired on on-purpose for MetaCreative Magazine?

MJ: It helps to have great people on my team. Pam has done a great job with the layout. Vampire author G.L. Giles is a regular contributor who I can always count on for quality book reviews and interviews. G.L. has also promoted MetaCreative Magazine by passing bumper stickers out at all her book signings at Barnes and Noble and Borders. She has also mentioned the magazine in a number of interviews she has done both on the radio and in print. And of course I can always count on great content from regular contributors like you and Dr. Judith Orloff (best selling author and intuitive psychiatrist). The magazine has grown, not just because of my own dedication and work, but because others have added their own great contributions. To me this is proof that this project is so much more than about me. Seeing the magazine touch other people's lives provides a big boost toward staying motivated.

JA: How important is it to you to have a diverse and inclusive magazine?

MJ: Diversity keeps life interesting, and educational. It gives us room to spiritually stretch and grow through exploring other cultures, viewpoints and ways of life. MetaCreative is meant to be colorful and diverse and seems to find its audience among open minded people from all stations in life who share the common ground of creative intelligence.

JA: What is your favorite part of interviewing people?

MJ: The best part of doing interviews is that I get to converse with fascinating people that I would probably not meet under other circumstances, I've had deep conversations with people like Jack Herer, the Emperor of Hemp. Another one I loved doing was Derek Humphry. He is a euthanasia expert and author of the best selling self-deliverance manual, 'Final Exit.' That particular interview was not as popular as say my interview with James Ray from 'The Secret,' but to me that interview with Derek is something I'll never forget.

JA: Why did you name the magazine MetaCreative Magazine?

MJ: I started a podcast in 2006 called MetaCreative Radio. MetaCreative Magazine was initially conceived as a newsletter that corresponded with the podcast, but it ended up taking over and becoming a stronger priority.
When I decided to start the podcast, the word 'MetaCreative' came to me and it felt like the perfect word to describe the eclectic range of guest interviews and music playlists that I had put together in my blueprints.

JA: How can people view your magazine?

MJ: Right now MetaCreative is available in three formats. The best thing to do is go to http://metacreativemagazine.com because I will keep the site current with all of the viewing options.

JA: Is there anything else that you would like to share about MetaCreative Magazine?

MJ: I would like to thank all of the readers and contributors as well as Pam for her consistent efforts with the project. Thank you especially to those who share MetaCreative with their friends by displaying the mini viewer on their websites and social networking pages. And thanks Jeanine for your interest in interviewing me!
I would also like to mention that anyone can subscribe to MetaCreative Magazine for free on Http://www.metacreativemagazine.com

JA: Thank you so much for sharing with us and taking the time to be a part of this newsletter. Thank you for your amazing contribution to me and all who come into contact with MetaCreative Magazine.
