Did you know that coaching undertaken to enhance your business is tax deductible?
In the U.S., all continuing education undertaken to maintain and improve business and professional skills are tax
deductible. (Treas.Reg. 1-162-5, Coughlin vs. Commissioner 203F 2d 307)

~Green Column~

Monica Ward, a P9X Fitness Coach for ArizonaFitClub.com says, after losing 35 pounds and keeping it off for 5 years, I like to think about ways to keep my diet fresh and exciting. I was surprised to discover that a simple change in my diet could help reduce my carbon footprint? That’s right! Greenhouse gases from farming, especially livestock, contributes to 1/5 of the total emissions worldwide. Eating a healthy and varied diet is good for us and now by limiting our red meat consumption we can also help reduce the overall demand for one specific type of food.

Maybe You Manifested The Positive After All by Dr. Jeanine

Copyright 2008

I once worked with a pre-teen girl who always seemed to identify with the dark side of life. While I did not think that was inherently a bad or dangerous thing, I was concerned that she seemed disconnected from the lighter, more sunny and carefree aspects of living.

Just before Halloween *Lisa approached me and asked me if I had any Halloween costumes she could borrow. I couldn't come up with anything but then I suddenly remembered that I had some old cheerleading uniforms in my closet.

"I know you wouldn't be interested in those!" I laughed.

But she surprised me in saying, "Jeanine, would you really, really let me borrow one? That would be so great."

I was pleased to see that she might want to embrace something different then her usual gloomy interests. Secretly, I was also chuffed with myself for having been the catalyst for her shift in preferences. I found myself smiling in the days before Halloween about having helped my little darling manifest something positive in her life. I felt effective, successful and self-satisfied.

On Halloween day, I looked out my office window and saw Lisa dressed in my uniform. I couldn't have been more delighted. Then, on closer inspection I could see that she had painted her face pale green, had ratted her blonde hair and had fake blood dripping from the corners of her mouth. She wasn't just any cheerleader; she was dressed as a dead cheerleader. My delight in being a successful change agent evaporated into thin air.

I thought about this story when contemplating the idea about manifesting seeming negatives and the shame that can accompany those manifestations. What I've noticed, however, is that often those "negative" manifestations hide positive and even non-dual potentials. I know that some of the most bitterly painful manifestations in my life have also brought some of the most beautiful gifts into my life. Without the challenges (some might say negatives), I wouldn't be half the woman I am today.

Later that Halloween day it occurred to me that it wasn't important that Lisa had chosen to be a dead cheerleader. What was important was that she came to me and I was able to share with her. We connected. That was ultimately the positive part. I could see the humor and creativity with what she had done and I laughed to myself for the rest of the day.

If it feels like you have been manifesting the negative, I might challenge you to look beneath the exterior and find the hidden gifts. You might find yourself laughing for the rest of the day!

Arizona legislation will outlaw MEChA and Mexican-American Studies

The Appropriations Committee of the Arizona House of Representatives has approved provisions to a 'Homeland
Security' measure that would essentially destroy the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA) and Mexican-American study programs in the state's public
schools, colleges and universities.

The anti-Mexican provisions to SB1108 were approved yesterday and the bill is now scheduled for a vote by
the full House.

The provisions would withhold funding to schools whose courses denigrate American values and the teachings of European based civilization.

One section of SB1108 would bar public schools, community colleges and universities from allowing
organizations to operate on campus if it is 'based in whole or in part on race-based criteria,' a provision
Rep. Russell Pearce said is aimed at MEChA.

Pearce is a Republican and the Chairman of the Appropriations Committee out of Mesa, Arizona.

According to Chairman Pearce, SB1108 would also bar teaching practices that 'overtly encourage dissent from American values' such as Raza Studies at the Tucson Unified School District.

In addition, SB1108 mandates the State Superintendent of Public Instruction to confiscate books and teaching materials that are deemed anti-American.

Chairman Pearce said some of the teaching materials amount to 'sedition' by suggesting that the current border between the United States and Mexico disappear
with La Raza taking over the American Southwest.

One book that would be confiscated mentioned by Pearce is 'Occupied America - A History of Chicanos' by
Professor Rodolfo Acuña.

Honoring The Gifts of Others
with Beverly Morning Star

Beverly Morning Star

J: Morning Star, you choose the topic "honoring the gifts of others" for this newsletter. Why did you choose this topic?

BMS: Thank you Jeanine. It is a truly an honor for me to share my feelings regarding the gifts of others. We as as people sometimes do not honor the gifts the creator has given to others. It is a great injustice to them as well as to our selves.

J: Why do you think this is?

BMS: It may be because of egos or just the fact that we refuse to recognize that we can walk in unity and grow in spirit when we learn to love and honor others.

J: How might we begin to appreciate the gifts of others?

BMS: The most important thing we can do is to recognize the gifts first and then acknowledge these gifts to the person who possesses them. Also, be sure to allow them to utilize their gifts. By encouraging and supporting others we allow them to use their precious gifts for the greater good. They will become stronger and grow spiritually.

J: How might we support and appreciate others in a quantum and profound way?

BMS: Acknowledge this person's gifts by telling others about them. We can do this in various ways such as linking others to their website, making others aware through word of mouth, interviewing them as you have done with me.

J: How can we assist others in developing their gifts?

BMS: The first thing we must to is to help others to quiet their minds and allow their soul to speak. We must teach that in quiet times they can develop their ability to listen and receive messages from the Great Spirit. He, after all, is the giver of all gifts we just need to be still and listen. He will tell us what our gifts are and what we need to do with them. One needs to stop idle chatter in the mind and take time to meditate. A walk in the woods, or on the beach, listening to soothing music, sitting by a waterfall are all great ways to get to the place of listening to the soul. We are all here for a common purpose although we may have different beliefs which will help to teach about unity, love and peace. Life is a lesson and as we walk our path in life we can choose to learn from our teachers or we can choose not to. We hinder our growth when we lead with our ego. When we are walking in love for one another we honor who and what we are all the more. May we always walk the path of peace and love in unity with all people. If you honor the gift the Creator has given you and to others, you will be a very blessed person.

J: Thank you so Morning Star. I certainly appreciate your gifts.

BMS: Thank you Jeanine

Next Month Psychologist and co-owner of Life Paths Retreats Dr. Beverly Nelson: The Enneagram

My Sweet, Crushed Angel

You have not danced so badly, my dear,
Trying to hold hands with the Beautiful One.

You have waltzed with great style,
My sweet, crushed angel,
To have ever neared God's Heart at all.

Our Partner is notoriously difficult to follow,
And even His best musicians are not always easy
To hear.

So what if the music has stopped for a while.

So what
If the price of admission to the Divine
Is out of reach tonight.

So what, my dear,
If you do not have the ante to gamble for Real Love.

The mind and body are famous
For holding the heart ransom,
But Hafiz knows the Beloved's eternal habits.

Have patience,
For He will not be able to resist your longing
For long.

You have not danced so badly, my dear,
Trying to kiss the Beautiful One.

You have actually waltzed with tremendous style,
O my sweet,
Oh my sweet, crushed angel.
